Butler Stairs
Beautifully constructed heritage sandstone stairs in Sydney were carefully surveyed and mapped. The information was used to design the remediation works on the structure which is part of the pedestrian network in Darlinghurst.
The heritage aspect, safety, construction feasibility and economy have driven the design to create a safer heritage sustainable asset for the City of Sydney.
Clement Street, Darlinghurst – Retaining wall
The sandstone retaining wall was damaged by the tree roots. Our team members provided a cost-effective design for the construction f the new retaining wall which saved more than 30% in comparison with the original design. (photos from google map and company’s archive)
Thomson Lane, Darlinghurst
Two century of the urban development has its legacies. In Darlinghurst, some of these development and road constructions create challenges due to their restricted access, poor condition and difficult working condition. Our team members, when employed by the City of Sydney, designed the remediation of the Thomson Street bridge with an innovative approach.
The outcome is a renewed concrete bridge that supports the road and footpath without any major excavation and facilitates a fast construction during school break in January 2016.
